Posture #1 - Kindness

An attitude of fundamental acceptance of how things are combined with a readiness to adjust tempo, tone and expression to meet the reality of the present moment. Kindness refuses to force the body beyond its natural limits. It releases the mind from compulsive comparisons to others. It makes space for healthy expressions of emotional energy. It recognizes that the dignity that is the gift of kindness is always received in the same moment it is given. Without kindness, there is no learning.

Posture #3 - Curiosity

Curiosity lets go of control and embraces the potential to be changed by new experiences, cultivating resilience and aliveness in the face of uncertainty. In movement, this allows the body to find new freedom by exploring new pathways. A curious mind experiments with new perspectives to cultivate social agility. Curiosity towards emotions challenges the defenses that cause reactivity, making space for greater adaptability. Social curiosity facilitates collaboration and the harmonious integration of diversity.

Connection is the turn towards experience, including when it's unpleasant, because graceful action requires presence. Connection to the body facilitates conscious use of breath, posture and perception to orient towards well-being. Presence of mind allows love to be chosen over fear to guide decision-making. Connection to feeling is the basis for self-regulation and self-knowledge. Sharing presence with others activates the power of collective intelligence and creative collaboration.

Posture #4 - Play

Play is any form of embodied participation that follows the compass of joy while respecting the well-being of every co-participant. Play invites the body to take the lead, following the spirit of spontaneity to find liberation from rigidity. A playful mind embraces intuition, insight and imagination to foster creativity. Playing with emotion loosens the limitations of personal identity. Playing well with others creates the possibility for cultural rebirth. Play is the highest form of learning

Hi, I'm Seth! I'm a somatic educator, relational facilitator and meditation teacher. My greatest joy is  supporting my clients to find alignment between body, mind, heart and soul.

I am a practitioner of the Feldenkrais Method and former editor of two different publications of the Feldenkrais Guild of North America.

The Grounded Connection program draws together the key lessons I have learned in over a decade of work with hundreds of clients as well as through own personal practice.

I believe that individual well-being can't be separated from collective well-being. Likewise, true health must include all aspects: physical, psychological, emotional, relational and spiritual. Finally, it's essential that we intentionally practice presence not only on the meditation cushion or in a workshop, but in all our waking hours. These principles inspired me to develop the 4 Postures of Love and the philosophy of Anytime Anywhere Awareness which are the foundation of this program.
