There’s a moment before we speak when we can hear what we are about to say. If we make a practice of pausing long enough to listen there, we have the opportunity not to say what should remain unsaid.
When you have no idea what to do, it’s easy not to do anything. But sometimes when you have no idea what you’re doing, the doing gives you an idea. I go through this almost every day.
How did we lose our childhood creativity? How do we get it back? Creative expression flowers when we are safe, in touch with our bodies, and in touch with each other. Then it’s the most natural thing in the world.
It’s hard to be spontaneous if you can’t trust that things will work out one way or another. But it’s possible to build that kind of trust, by learning more about who you are and how you move through the world.
